Stowe,
After I wrote my previous email to you, I thought to myself, “If her music is getting in my head and making me feel so good, why am I putting off reading her book?” So the night before last, I picked it up and began to read. Here I am a day later, done with the book and refocused in life. I was chatting when I was in line to get a copy of your book at the I Can Do It convention… My turn came and I remember glancing at you and doing a double take. I told you you were so darn cute! It was a thought, a feeling that came to me in an instant and I felt compelled to to tell you! Now, after reading your book, I am in awe of the you that I met a the convention. I would like to thank you for creating a book that marries your story with Calvin’s wisdom and sprinkling in a few quotes for your readers to chew on when they start and finish a chapter. I know that you have had a profound affect on me. I have much to think about. I would like this to be a more detailed letter, but I just want to get on my bike and think. Thank you for sharing your talents and your journey.
Enjoy flying!
~ Kathleen
I have been reading your book, Flying High, to the residents at the assisted living facility where I am an activity assistant. I have to tell you these are women who have dementia. They are so engaged and interested in hearing more every day. It seems to have awakened their very spirits and they are asking pertinent questions. This is nothing less than a miracle. It makes my heart sing to see such life in their faces!
Thank you again for this wonderful book!
~ Sharon Kasserman
I just finished reading Flying High and I want you to know how I will treasure all I learned from it. I am sending it to my daughter and her family and suggest that she send it to her sister when she is finished with it.
I was fortunate enough to meet you at MCCSL’s book club and I felt such a connection to you. You radiated such loving kindness. I was feeling a little low when I came to the meeting… but when I left and was walking home I felt like skipping and singing. I thank you and Calvin for all these words have taught me. I am not ever going to “play small” again.
Much love to you,
~ Sharon Kasserman
I saw this (your blog, A New Perspective) and had to reply. You read this excerpt from your book today at church and between that and your music, it broke open my heart to heal at a level that I know it needed to be. It’s continuing to do so, as I write this, as I totally and completely want to be transformed. I know with all my heart that this healing is going to take me to new places in my life and I can’t thank you enough for you, being you, sharing your story, writing and singing your songs. Hopefully soon, I will be up on stage too, sending out healing and teaching too.
You my dear, are a light of God!
With love & hugs,
~ Miranda
Hi Stowe,
I read your biography of Calvin. It was truly one of the BEST books I have read. It is the ONLY book that finally tied together Christianity and Laws of Attraction I have struggled with to fit together so much over the last 6 years. I have definitely utilized the Laws of Attraction but feared I was being secular, but you and Calvin explained it So Clearly for me. I have been recommending your book to everyone I talk to.
Thank you so so so much and I’m so happy you survived the cancer. Your love for your children is Incredible and your relationship with Peter is inspirational.
Much like yourself I am on a mission to heal some remnants of my childhood that seem to linger, through Christ, and I believe this might finally help me have that beautiful relationship with Jesus I see that many people have.
Walking with you through your journey was incredibly emotional and vivid and such a privilege.
Thank you again for this beautiful book.Dear Stowe,
It’s about a quarter of six in the evening… and I am STILL in bed! I picked up your book this morning and I couldn’t put it down. So I spent this whole day, this rainy Thursday, reading your wonderful book. I just wanted to tell you what an incredible book, what a wonderful blessing it is. I feel like I’ve just spent the day with two beautiful people – you and Calvin. I’ve underlined so many things… I feel like I’ve learned so many new things and my body is just tingling with all the excitement of life and thoughts that you stirred up in my heart. Thank you so much! I’ll probably be ordering a few more copies of this to send to all my friends.
Blessings!~ Bob
Oh my Goodness! I ordered this book the moment Rita Davenport mentioned that it was a MUST read. (nugget!) I have had it “on deck” for too long, as I have a nightstand full of suggested reading this quarter. Had a full day of travel today and I am almost finished! This book is so Great that I am going to order them for my team leaders as a Valentine’s Day gift. What better gift than a book that moves you from the heart? Thank you so much Stowe and Calvin! Your book is so inspiring! Your LIFE lessons are inspiring!! I can’t wait to meet you!
~ Jami Amidon
I am almost finished with Stowe and Calvin’s book Flying High. I feel like I know you both intimately. You are so vulnerable and real about your illnesses and such profound truths, shared in the True teachings of Christ, not some New Age stuff. You book has really touched me deeply and I know it will touch others as well. May God Bless you both with prosperous, healthy LONG Life! I’m glad you are writing and singing again and sharing your gifts with the world. Now I need to get well so I can sing and write again also. Thanks for your candor, faithful heart and outreach in God’s love.

I woke up this morning to more Flying High. I am thoroughly enjoying it, but am needing many more tissues than anticipated. You might have considered a deal with Kleenex and included a “Bonus Tissue Pack” right on the front cover. Thank you again for your gift of the book, and moreover your sharing. I can tell this will be in my top favorite reads.

I was up to about chapter 6 in your book on our trip back from Dallas on Saturday, and realized that I wanted to share it with my husband, Greg. I went back to the beginning and read it aloud to him while he was driving. And last night I stayed up half the night almost finishing it because I just couldn’t put it down.
You are a WONDERFUL writer and should be so proud of this stellar work. Thank you for sharing your experience so openly. I have no doubt it will prove to be a blessing to others who are faced with life and death decisions of their own. Therein lies the gift in all the hardship you went through.

A friend was kind enough, knowing what an avid searcher and reader I am to loan me this book to read over the weekend. Now… I just finished chapter 4 and had to close my door and cry. Ah, how I related. Lost my parents two weeks apart… the tears? Ok, so now I feel drained, but so drawn to continue reading. But think I’d better not do here at work! You have such a great talent. I am honored to read this book and will purchase a copy. Many blessings to you and for what you give back.

I am so thankful for your book, I have ignored my husband this past weekend. I’d read, meditate, read and meditate some more. Thank you so much for writing it. I am honored to read it. Your words/stories/examples are such an inspiration. Please know I respect you and you have made a difference.

This is a GREAT book! I read it in 24 hours…I can’t remember the last time I read a book that quickly…I just couldn’t put it down. What an amazing story! Stowe, thank you for sharing so much…I enjoyed getting to know you better. Calvin, you have inspired me on so many occasions… and again here. This book entertained me, I laughed, I cried, I grew and I walked away a better person. I recommend this book to all! Thank you!

We bought a copy of “FLYING HIGH” Friday night 11.11.11. and had it autographed. Bob Teague and I found a FUN way to share FLYING HIGH with each other. Picture this… Bob sprawled out at one end of the couch… Me at the other. We’re taking turns reading the chapters OUT LOUD to one another. He reads a chapter, I read the next. As it turns out, he reads about Calvin, I read about Stowe and so it goes. We don’t want to PUT it DOWN… We laugh. We cry. We feel. We remember. A beautiful way to spend our time together. Thank you, Stowe Dailey Shockey and Calvin LeHew for sharing your lives with us.
We are left forever changed.
Sending you our Love.
